Peter Burge is a Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Coach and Meditation Teacher. He has meditated and practised yoga for over 40 years and worked in the Health and Wellbeing Area for over 25 years. He has taught meditation, yoga and stress management courses and retreats around Australia.
Along the way, Peter discovered that yoga, meditation, and mindfulness alone – although they provide an excellent foundation – were not enough for most people to recover from addictions, emotional issues, and childhood traumas. He discovered that because these things occurred on the emotional level of our being, they usually need to be healed through ‘emotional work’, such as psychotherapy and counselling. As a consequence, Peter studied to become a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
Peter has been a counsellor since 2011 and a psychotherapist since 2015 and has been teaching meditation and mindfulness since 1980.
Peter’s passions are using the energy of an unprocessed or charged emotion to integrate or heal the condition that created it in the first place (emotional alchemy); and combining eastern and western approaches to healing to promote optimal wellbeing.
